International Law

Apostille

The term Apostille is taken from the international law that describes the verification of the correctness of a signature that appears on public certificate, such as a marriage or birth certificate. The Apostille gives international legal and authentic validity to the certificate. Without an Apostille stamp, your certificate will not be valid in other countries.

Translations for Italian Authorities

In Israel, Italian translations can be performed by anyone interested, including lawyers, notaries, or professional translators. However, for a translated document to be accepted by the Italian authorities, it must carry certification that the translation is authentic and correct.

Any document submitted to an Italian public or judicial authority must include a certified translation as a condition for its validity. Naturally, when a translation is required for legal proceedings (whether inside or outside a courtroom), the importance of an Italian translation performed by an expert in Italian foreign law becomes crucial. Attorney Tomer Gal is known to the Italian Embassy in Israel and meets the requirements for an expert in Italian foreign law.

Affidavits: Who Can Certify an Affidavit in Israel and What is its Legal Validity?

An affidavit is a written document in which a person declares facts from personal knowledge and confirms their truthfulness under a warning equivalent to an oath. Affidavits serve as a tool for presenting facts in legal and bureaucratic proceedings. In Israel, a lawyer is the most common party authorized to certify affidavits. A lawyer can do so after verifying the deponent's identity, explaining the content of the affidavit, and warning them (in lieu of an oath) to tell the truth. A notary is also authorized to certify affidavits, and in certain cases, so are judges, registrars, or specific public officials.

An affidavit certified by a lawyer has binding legal validity: it can serve as evidence in court, forms the basis for various requests and claims, and knowingly providing a false affidavit is a criminal offense. An affidavit certified by a lawyer is legally equivalent to an oath. Many public authorities require affidavits for verifying details and receiving services.

>>> At Gal Law Offices you can receive affidavit drafting and certification services fully digitally and remotely, without needing to visit the office. The process is conducted through a user-friendly online digital certification system.

Declaratory Judgments

Sometimes the Israeli Population Registry reports names or other information that differs from that registered in the country of origin or citizenship of the interested party. In certain cases, and especially in the case of a deceased person, the Ministry of the Interior refuses to correct and the interested party is obliged to apply to the Israeli judiciary. Such a request is a legal claim in every sense, and the interested party must provide legal evidence that will allow him to correct the registry as requested. Attorney Tomer Gal, a member of the National and District Immigration Committee (Haifa), assists applicants in obtaining judgments that correct or declare the changes in the Population Registry.

Our team provides apostille and translation services all across Israel, in a completely digital-hybrid way. Our team provides international translations from Hebrew to Italian that are known for the Italian Embassy in Tel Aviv. In addition, we handle requests for judgments concerning civil status and name changes, including the recognition of foreign judgments in Israel.
